Change your Trustaroo password
Change the password you sign in with, from inside the app, in under a minute. You need your current password to do it. If you cannot remember it, reset it by email instead.
The Security panel asks for both your current and your new password. Use reset a forgotten Trustaroo password if you cannot sign in at all.
Steps
- Sign in at my.trustaroo.app.
- Select your avatar in the top-right corner, then choose Settings.
- Select Security in the settings list.
- Type your existing password in Current password.
- Type your new password in New password.
- Choose Change. A message at the top of the panel confirms the result.
Password rules
The panel states the requirements under the new password field: a minimum of 8 characters, including numbers, letters and special characters. A password that misses one of these is rejected with an error under the field rather than saved.
Three or four unrelated words plus a number and a punctuation mark is easier to remember and harder to guess than a short password with substituted letters. A password manager removes the need to remember it at all.
Two changes per 24 hours
Trustaroo limits how often you can change your password. The Security panel states that you can only change your password twice within 24 hours. If you hit that limit, wait until the next day and try again.
That limit exists to make repeated guessing expensive. It does not affect signing in, and it does not affect the email reset link.
Common errors and what they mean
- An error under Current password means the password you typed is not the one on your account. If you are not certain of it, reset it by email instead.
- An error under New password means the new password does not meet the complexity rules above, or you have already changed it twice today.
- If the Change button stays disabled, one of the two fields is still empty.
After you change it
You stay signed in on the device you used. Trustaroo does not sign you out of other browsers automatically, so sign out anywhere you no longer use if you changed the password because you suspect someone else had it.
If Trustaroo asks for your password again during a session without signing you out, that is the session unlock screen. Enter your current password there, the same one you just set.
If colleagues sign in with the same account, changing the password locks them out until you share the new one. Give each person their own user instead, so a password change affects one person only.
If you also want to change your email address
The address you sign in with lives in the Account panel, not the Security panel. Changing it there changes your sign-in name, so keep an inbox you can open.
