Send review links by WhatsApp and SMS

Messaging apps get opened within minutes, which makes them the fastest way to turn a happy customer into a rating. This guide shows you how to copy your Trustaroo review link and send it yourself over WhatsApp or SMS, and how to word the message.

Trustaroo does not send SMS or WhatsApp messages

There is no built-in text messaging in Trustaroo, and no bulk send. You copy the link and send it from your own phone or your own messaging tool. The only sending Trustaroo does for you is review-request email inside email automation.

Steps

  1. Sign in at my.trustaroo.app and open your business profile.
  2. In the Locations panel, select Copy link on the location the customer dealt with. Trustaroo confirms with "Link copied to clipboard".
  3. Open the conversation with your customer.
  4. Write a short message and paste the link at the end.
  5. Send it.
Save the link on your phone

Staff who send these messages all day should not sign in to Trustaroo every time. Save the short link as a text replacement, a pinned note or a saved WhatsApp message so it is two taps away.

Message templates

Keep messages under about 25 words, put the link at the end and say how long it takes. Personalize the first few words, because a message that opens with the customer's name and the job does not read as spam.

After a service job

Hi Sarah, thanks for having us out today. If the boiler is behaving, would you mind rating the visit? It takes 30 seconds: [link]

After a restaurant booking

Hi Tom, thanks for dining with us last night. How was it? You can tell us here in half a minute: [link]

After a purchase or delivery

Hi Ana, hope the chair arrived in one piece. Rate your order here so we know how we did: [link]

A gentle second message, only if the first got no reply

Hi Sarah, no worries if you would rather not, but if you have 30 seconds your rating really helps us: [link]

Send at most one follow-up, and only to people you have an existing conversation with.

Timing

  • Same-visit trades and services. Send while you are still on site or within an hour of leaving, when the result is fresh and visible.
  • Restaurants and cafes. Send the next morning, not during the meal.
  • Deliveries and e-commerce. Send a day or two after the item arrives, so the customer has actually used it.
  • Appointments and treatments. Send later the same day.

Avoid evenings after about 8pm, and avoid Sunday mornings. A review request that wakes someone up gets a rating you would rather not have.

Sending a message to a customer you have an active relationship with is normally reasonable. Buying a list of numbers, messaging people who never contacted you, or using the WhatsApp Business API for bulk marketing without opt-in is not, and both WhatsApp and national telecom regulators enforce that.

Practical rules that keep you safe: only message people who gave you their number for this job, send from a number they recognize, and stop immediately if someone asks you to. If you plan to automate this at volume, read Unsubscribes and consent first, because the same principles apply.

Never ask for a specific star rating in the message. See The review filter and platform policies.

Sending at volume

If you send more than a handful of these a day, the copy-and-paste routine becomes the bottleneck. Two options:

  • Use your existing CRM, helpdesk or messaging platform, and paste the Trustaroo link into its own template.
  • Move the follow-up to email and let Trustaroo do it. Email automation sends a scheduled sequence to contacts pushed into the queue, including via Zapier.
