What is Trustaroo? Review collection explained

Trustaroo is a review-collection and reputation-management tool for businesses that serve customers in person or by appointment. This page explains what it does, how a single scan becomes a public review, and what you get on the free plan. Reading it takes about five minutes.

What Trustaroo does

Every location in your account gets a short review link and a matching QR code. You print the QR code, add the link to an email signature, or send it by WhatsApp. A customer opens it, rates you from 1 to 5 stars, and Trustaroo decides what happens next based on that rating.

Happy customers are handed off to the review site you care about, such as your Google Business Profile or your Trustpilot page. Customers who rate you below your threshold get a private feedback form instead, so you hear about the problem directly. Every rating, every piece of written feedback and every hand-off is recorded in your dashboard.

Who it is for

Trustaroo suits restaurants, cafes, retail stores, clinics, salons, garages, home services and any business where a customer is physically present or reachable by email after the job. It works for a single shop and for a chain where every branch needs its own link, QR code and numbers.

What happens when a customer scans

  • They land on your review page. The address is your short link, for example https://my.trustaroo.app/response/xxxxxxxxxxx. The page shows your business name and asks how their experience was.
  • They pick a rating. One to five stars, then Continue.
  • A high rating leads to your review site. They see a short thank-you page with a button that opens your Google or Trustpilot page in a new tab, where they write the public review.
  • A lower rating leads to private feedback. They get a free-text box asking what could be better, plus your contact details if you have chosen to show them, and then a thank-you page.
  • You see the result. The rating, the written feedback and whether the customer was handed off to your review site all appear under Reviews.

That rating-based routing is called the review filter, and you control both the threshold and whether it runs at all. If you turn it off, everyone who opens the link goes straight to your review site with no rating step.

Routing, not filtering

The review filter does not hide, delete or hold back public reviews. Anyone can still write a public review at any time. Google's policies also prohibit soliciting reviews only from customers you expect to be happy, so treat the filter as a way to catch complaints privately rather than a way to suppress them. See Review filter and platform policies.

Does Trustaroo write or post reviews for my customers?
No. Customers write their own review on Google or Trustpilot. Trustaroo only asks for a rating and sends them to the right place.
Do I need a Google Business Profile to use Trustaroo?
No, but you do need somewhere to send happy customers. That can be Google, Trustpilot, Facebook or any other public review page with a URL.
Can customers leave a review without scanning a QR code?
Yes. The same short link works in an email, an SMS, a WhatsApp message or a link on a receipt.
How many locations can I have on the free plan?
Two active locations. Archiving a location frees up a slot, and Premium removes the limit.
