Add a location

You will add a location and end up with its own short review link and QR code, tracked separately from your other locations. It takes about two minutes, and everything you leave blank falls back to your business-wide defaults.

Before you start

  • On the free plan you can have two active locations. If you already have two, the Add Location button is disabled; see Free plan location limit.
  • Decide the name before you start. It appears in your Reviews table, in your location filter, and on the review page itself if you switch that on.

Steps

  1. Sign in at my.trustaroo.app, select Profile, then Locations.
  2. Select Add Location at the top right of the panel. The Add Location dialog opens.
  3. Fill in Location name. The placeholder suggests something like Downtown Branch.
  4. Leave everything else empty unless this location needs to differ from your defaults. Each field's hint says "Leave empty to use the default from Location Defaults panel." The fields available are:
    • Review page URL for a branch with its own Google or Trustpilot page.
    • Redirect threshold, a number from 1 to 5.
    • Review filter, a choice of Use default from Location Defaults, Enabled or Disabled.
    • Contact email and Contact phone, plus a Show contact email and Show contact phone choice of Use default from Location Defaults, Show or Hide.
  5. Decide on Show location name to customers. Switched on, your review page asks "How was your experience with Café Noord - Downtown?" instead of naming only the business.
  6. Select Save. Trustaroo confirms with "Location saved" and the row appears in the table.

What the new row gives you

The table shows the location's name, its Short Link, a Settings summary and a row of action buttons. The short link is a fresh eleven character address in the form https://my.trustaroo.app/response/xxxxxxxxxxx, unique to this location and stable for its lifetime.

The Settings column summarizes what the location will actually do, including Redirect threshold, whether the Review filter is on or off, and how many reviews it has collected. That summary already resolves the inheritance for you, so it is the fastest way to check that a new location behaves as you expect.

The action buttons let you copy the link, show the QR code, download the printable PDF, add an Apple Wallet pass, edit the location and archive it. See Share your review link.

The name is not the link

Renaming a location later does not change its short link, so the QR codes you printed keep working. See Edit and archive locations.

Naming that stays useful

  • Use the name your staff use out loud: Kerkstraat, Airport, Van 2.
  • Add the city only when you operate in more than one: Utrecht - Central.
  • Keep it short if Show location name to customers is on, because it appears in a sentence on the review page.
  • Avoid dates and campaign names. Locations outlive campaigns, and a QR code labelled Summer looks stale in October.

More patterns, including whether to point branches at one Google page or several, are in Multi-location setup.

A location does not have to be a place

Anything you want to measure separately can be a location: a market stall, a delivery channel, or the link you use in invoice emails as opposed to the one on your counter. The free plan's two-location limit is the practical constraint.
