Edit and archive locations

You will change a location's name or settings, and archive a location you have stopped using. Editing takes a minute; archiving is instant, and worth understanding before you select it.

Edit a location

  1. Select Profile, then Locations.
  2. Select the edit icon on the row you want to change. Its tooltip reads Edit location and the dialog opens as Edit Location.
  3. Change what you need. Clearing a field is meaningful: an empty field falls back to your business-wide default rather than staying at its old value. See Per-location overrides.
  4. Select Save. Trustaroo confirms with "Location saved" and the Settings column updates.
Editing never changes the link

The short link and QR code belong to the location, not to its settings. Rename it, point it at a different review page or flip the review filter, and every QR code you printed keeps working exactly as before.

The one edit customers notice immediately is Show location name to customers, which adds the location name to the question on your review page. Everything else is invisible to them apart from the review destination they end up on.

Archive a location

Archiving retires a location. Use it when a branch closes, when you created a location by mistake, or when you need a free slot on the free plan.

  1. Select Profile, then Locations.
  2. Select the archive icon on the row, with the tooltip Archive location.
  3. Trustaroo archives it straight away and confirms with "Location archived".
Archiving happens immediately and cannot be undone in the app

There is no confirmation prompt and no un-archive button. The location disappears from the Locations panel as soon as you select the icon. Check you are on the right row before you select it.

What archiving does and does not do

  • It frees a slot. The free plan counts active locations only, so archiving one lets you add another. See Free plan location limit.
  • It removes the location from your list. The row no longer appears on the Locations panel, so you also lose easy access to its link, QR code and PDF downloads.
  • It keeps your history. The ratings and written feedback that location collected stay in your account and continue to count in your reports.
  • It does not switch off the printed material. Archiving is a bookkeeping action inside Trustaroo, not a kill switch on the link. The short link keeps opening the review page, and scans on it are still recorded against the archived location, so they keep landing in your dashboard and your Reviews table. Take posters, table talkers and stickers out of circulation yourself, and remove the link from email signatures and templates.

Do this before you archive

  1. Download anything you still need, such as the PDF, while the row is still there.
  2. Note the short link if you have it printed anywhere, so you can recognize it later.
  3. Collect the material back in, or replace it with the QR code of the location that takes over.
  4. Check your automation, because a sequence pointing at a retired location keeps sending. See Enable automation.
Rename instead of archiving when a branch moves

A branch that changes address is the same location with a new name. Renaming keeps its history and its printed QR codes valid, where archiving and re-adding starts its numbers from zero and forces a reprint.
