Facebook and other review platforms

Google and Trustpilot are not the only destinations. Trustaroo accepts any URL in the Review page URL field, so you can point happy customers at a Facebook page, a travel platform or an industry-specific directory. This guide shows you how to find those URLs and how to judge whether they are usable.

Facebook

Facebook calls reviews recommendations. A page collects them only when the reviews or recommendations feature is turned on in the page settings, so check that first: if the tab is missing, no link will work.

Open your page as a visitor would, find the reviews or recommendations tab, and copy that address. It normally looks like this:

https://www.facebook.com/YourPageName/reviews

Facebook does not offer a stable direct-to-form URL the way Google does, so expect customers to land on the recommendations tab and choose the action there. Because of that extra step, Facebook converts less well than a true review link.

Test while signed out

An address copied while you are signed in as a page admin often shows a management view that a visitor cannot use. Always open it in a private window before you save it.

Tripadvisor

Open your property or restaurant listing and use the write-a-review action. The address that opens contains the review form and is stable enough to reuse. Tripadvisor is worth choosing over Google when tourists and travel planners are the audience you want to influence.

Booking.com

Booking.com only accepts reviews from guests who booked through the platform, and it invites those guests itself after checkout. There is no public URL that lets an arbitrary visitor write a review. If Booking.com matters to your property, keep encouraging bookings through it and point Trustaroo at a destination that anyone can use, such as Google or Tripadvisor.

Yelp

Yelp has a write-a-review page per business listing, reachable from the listing itself. Note that Yelp's own guidelines discourage businesses from soliciting reviews at all, and its filter demotes reviews it believes were solicited. Choose Yelp as a destination only if you understand and accept that.

Industry platforms

Many sectors have a directory that carries more weight with buyers than a general platform:

  • Healthcare and dental: national practice-rating directories.
  • Trades and home improvement: local trade-checking directories.
  • Software and B2B services: business software review sites.
  • Automotive, legal, hospitality and childcare: sector-specific directories, often country-specific.

The test is always the same. Open your listing as a visitor and see whether there is an address that lets a stranger start writing a review. If there is, it is usable.

What makes a good destination

When a platform has no direct URL

Some platforms simply do not expose one. Your options, in order of preference:

  1. Pick a different destination that does, usually Google.
  2. Use the platform's own invitation system for that platform, and use Trustaroo for the destination you can link to.
  3. Link to your listing page and accept the extra step, but only if that platform is genuinely where your buyers look.

Trustaroo sends redirected customers to one URL per location, so you are choosing one destination at a time. You can change it whenever you like without reprinting QR codes, because the printed code encodes your Trustaroo short link rather than the destination. To run different platforms at different branches, set the URL on each location. See Per-location overrides.

Paste it into Trustaroo

  1. Sign in at my.trustaroo.app and open your business profile.
  2. Paste the address into Review page URL, including https://.
  3. Select Save, then verify the flow with Test your review link redirect.

Whatever platform you choose, its rules on soliciting and incentivizing reviews apply to how you ask. See The review filter and platform policies.
